Readers' service

Loan service Department works with readers over 14 years of age. The access to the books is free, they are sorted and located on two levels: sectoral and artistic. The readers can sign in throughout the whole year.

Department of General Reading room and interlibrary loan offers reference books, encyclopedias, albums, periodicals and other library documents obtained in the library through subscription and deposit. There is an access to all automated databases and an electronic version of APIS. Readers are provided with the opportunity for interlibrary loan.

Complex Department of Arts has a loan service, a reading room and a studio with the necessary recording and sound reproduction equipment. The department offers funds of books, periodicals, reference, graphic and musical publications, records, audiotapes, CDs, video tapes, pictures, etc., some of which the readers can get out and use at home. Readers can also watch videos and DVD records, listen to sound recordings and play musical works. The department offers differentiated service to readers, using various forms of individual and team work.

Foreign Language reading room.
On May 9, 2007 – The Day of Europe - in the Regional public library "Stilian Chilingirov was opened a Foreign Language reading room.
The reading room offers its readers a rich reference fund - encyclopedias, dictionaries, phrase-books in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian. There are books on religion, social sciences, natural sciences, history; books about specialist training in various fields of study, and periodicals. For home use a large collection of literature is available to help students, studying foreign languages; language coursebook systems in paper, as well as in audio format, CDs, periodicals. Our youngest readers can learn English through picture dictionaries and multimedia products.
During the summer months language study is organized. So students from pre-school and primary school levels can spend their valuable vacation in the cozy and pleasant halls of the library, studying foreign languages.
In the foreign language reading room there is a separate work place for readers with free Internet access.

The children's department was created as an independent unit in November 1955. The fund, which has 78 500 library documents, consists of books, periodicals, records, audiotapes, videotapes, CDs, electronic encyclopedic editions, and games. The department is available to children up to 14 years of age, students and teachers in two rooms: a loan service room and a reading room. The service in the hall for free access is differentiated by age groups. The reading room offers: reference-bibliographic information to help the readers use the card indexes and catalogs in the department and the reference library system, as well as professional help in search of literary works on a particular topic. The department works in partnership with the school libraries and community center libraries, educational organizations and foundations throughout the region.
